Video: Viral hippo Moo Deng predicts who will win US presidential election

Moo Deng, Thailand’s viral hippo, “predicted” that Republican candidate Donald Trump will win the 2024 US presidential election, defeating his Democratic rival Kamala Harris.
The pygmy hippo made her prediction for the November 5 election when she was given a choice between two fruit cakes at the Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand, The Independent reported, citing a video.
In a purported video of the ‘prediction’, reportedly shot on Monday, zookeepers offered Moo Deng two watermelons–one carved with the local spelling of Donald Trump’s name and the other with Kamala Harris’s name.
The footage showed Moo Deng choosing to eat the Trump-labeled watermelon, while the larger hippo in the enclosure feasted on the Harris watermelon.

The hippo’s prediction came as national poll results show the two candidates neck-and-neck in the high-stakes 2024 election.
Meanwhile, Trump and Harris campaigned in crucial battleground states on Monday, making their final push on the last full day before the big election for the White House’s top post.
As of Monday, over 78 million Americans had already cast their ballots, according to the University of Florida’s Election Lab, which monitors early and mail-in voting across the US.
The leaders concentrated their efforts on Pennsylvania and Michigan–widely seen as pivotal for the 2024 presidential race. Other key battlegrounds include Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Georgia. To secure victory in the 2024 election, a candidate must win 270 electoral college votes.
